Responsible for keeping equipment and facilities in good working condition and running effectively. Perform a full range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks involved in a variety of trades such as building maintenance and repair including carpentry, plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical, mechanical, painting, and welding skills. Apply strong technical knowledge and common-sense judgment to maintain food processing equipment, building structures and systems.

· Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on all facility and production equipment and systems to sustain optimum operations and minimize downtime.

· Maintain, repair, and replace plumbing systems and fixtures such as bathrooms, water heaters and regulators, pressure valves, and boiler piping and pumps.

· Maintain, repair, and replace electrical systems including panels, switches, fixtures, wiring, power generators, computer lines, scales, and alarms.

· Monitor and update HVAC control program, CO2 and ammonia levels and shut off valves. Respond immediately to alarms.

· Perform carpentry and general remodeling such as framing, drywall, doors and windows, assembling furniture, and painting.

· Perform welding, masonry, flooring, and general repair work. Make tooling when necessary.

· Safely operate tools, lift trucks, and other equipment used to perform maintenance activities. May operate production machinery in order to sample safety and functionality before releasing to production.

· Work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings. Interpret and apply correct written and oral technical instructions.

· Maintain clear, well-organized records of work performed, updating and adding specific preventative maintenance documentation for all production and facility equipment as required.

· Perform custodial duties as needed, including but not limited to picking up materials in walkways, bathroom maintenance, grounds maintenance clean-up, spot snow removal or ice treatment ensuring the parking lot and entrances are clear and safe.

· Clean work areas throughout shift according to company Sanitation SOP standards. Responsible for maintaining well-organized equipment and tool areas to keep account of all company property.

· Respond urgently and safely to all emergencies and alarms that occur, including during off-work hours if available.

· Follow company work procedures and other Quality and Maintenance program requirements.

· Build positive working relationships, effectively and patiently communicating with and responding to coworkers and outside contractors. Train operators on proper equipment use when necessary.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Participate in cohesive and consistent success of the full customer order-through-payment cycle, as directed, including timely and accurate order entry, return authorization support, follow-up on deliveries, basic customer inquiries, and may verify receipt of payments.

· Verify and enter customer orders into the company's manufacturing planning system to support timely delivery and service to Strauss customers.

· Support inside and outside sales team with customer order inquiries and delivery confirmations. Handle customer calls as directed and visit customer locations when needed.

Primary Job Duties:

• Skillfully use knives, meat hooks, and other assigned tools and equipment to trim or debone all proteins according to specifications, and with minimum abrasions, tears, and other defects.

• Trim, or debone legs, loins, shoulders, racks and other carcass sections using high-quality cuts.

• Deboners clean carcasses, cut and remove bones and fat loose from meat.
