As part of the Strauss Logistics accounting team, the Accounting Specialist will partner with the logistics team to provide financial support including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll preparation.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for attainment of National Account (to include national accounts and regional chain accounts of 30 units or more) volume and profit objectives set within the Foodservice channel. This position is responsible for developing the Foodservice bulk business within assigned National Accounts and will be expected to work closely with our distributor partner’s National Account sales team. The National Account Manager will be required to develop both short and long term customer strategies within key accounts and an annual business plan that aligns with overall Foodservice business strategies. Position will have responsibility for managing customer Trade Funds (if applicable), contracts and pricing agreements. The National Account Manager is also responsible for providing support to Vice President of Foodservice Sales in the areas of sales planning, financial management, trade/promotional budget analysis, administration of customer contracts and pricing agreements, and development of promotional and merchandising strategies. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead and manage National Chain Account sales strategy to achieve or exceed growing profit targets in Strauss’ strategic plans.

· Sell Strauss’ premium products and services at expected margins to grow profitable sales within the national account arena, by executing the following:

o Develop and leverage a strong working understanding of each customer’s strategy, organization and/or menu, and decision-making process to implement and expand win-win customer solutions that drive profitable growth.

o Increase revenue by identifying, recommending, and selling new profitable product integrations within Strauss’ capability to keep ahead of customer and consumer trends.

o Source prospects, develop new accounts, and increase account penetration by strengthening exemplary business partnerships and customer satisfaction with each national account.

o Prepare and deliver presentations on products, promotions, etc. to key decision makers and management at accounts.

o Build and achieve market leadership of all Strauss’ proteins in the assigned segment by driving brand awareness as a Brand Ambassador, actively promoting the company, products, and services within the assigned segment and beyond as requested.

o Work in concert with the accounts Culinary team and with Strauss internal Marketing, R&D, and Production to develop new and/or proprietary products for chain account growth and penetration opportunities.

o Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry related events to stay updated on competitive products and to build relationships and identify new sales, market, and product opportunities.

o Implement timely contingency plans to adapt quickly and achieve profitability expectations. Communicate opportunities and concerns to management in a timely manner.

o Complete required sales administration for accounts, or delegate appropriate administration and follow-up to Strauss’ internal support team.

· Collaborate with Finance and Operations to ensure capability and mutual agreement on profitability of proposed programs and product offerings. Manage the price quote process for proposed sales. 

o Support budget planning process by identifying anticipated sales income and expenses for the assigned segment accounts.

o Prepare and routinely evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections by account. Provide accurate product, pricing, and volume data while identifying and executing growth opportunities and the financial results expected. 

o Provide reliable, updated demand planning related information and provide timely market feedback internally to support successful product development, merchandising, and pricing of product and programs.

SUMMARY 

Responsible for managing Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams to provide safe, high quality products that meet customer expectations through company and USDA food safety programs and procedures. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure implementation and compliance of all food safety, quality, and regulatory policies and practices as assigned by Quality Assurance Director.

  • Manage daily HACCP and other QA related paperwork to assure regulatory compliance.  
  • Implement predefined customer and supplier standards, address customer needs, and act as liaison between customers and operations to ensure standards and expectations are met.
  • Maintain and expand on current plant standards to comply with the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards.
  • Participate in preparation of, and ensure team readiness for, crisis management responses including product withdrawal, recall, and potential food borne illnesses. 
  • Work with QA staff members to prevent process or product failures. Focus on continuous improvement of product quality through the development of quality plans, process controls, attention to process details and specifications and quality training.
  • Ensure that operational and pre-operational sanitation is acceptable. Implement and develop necessary verification activities including micro sampling to verify the effectiveness of sanitation activities. Ensure GMP and Sanitation audits are conducted by the department as required with documented corrective actions and follow-up, as necessary. 
  • Manage performance plans, work schedules, vacations, assignments, and special projects as well as training and personnel development for direct reports.
  • Participate in hiring, corrective actions, and training/coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
